टनल निर्माण को एकजुट हुए सर्व धर्म
28 जून 2010 का दिन देवी-देवताओं की धरा कुल्लू-मनाली और लाहौल-स्पीति के लिए महत्वपूर्ण रहा। अनेकता में एकता के रूप में भारत की धार्मिक विरासत के भी दर्शन हो गए। इस मौके पर समस्त धर्म एकजुट हुए। सृष्टि के कर्णधार महर्षि मनु की तपोस्थली में रोहतांग टनल कार्य को सफल बनाने के लिए सर्वधर्म प्रार्थना की गई। यूपीए अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी, इस्पात मंत्री वीरभद्र सिंह, रक्षा मंत्री एके एंटनी समेत समस्त हस्तियों ने इस पूजा में भाग लिया। हिंदू धर्म की ओर से जगतसुख गांव के पुरोहित सुरेंद्र शर्मा ने अपने रीति-रिवाज के अनुसार कार्य के शुभारंभ अवसर पर भगवान से टनल का कार्य निर्विघ्न पूरा करने की प्रार्थना की। मुस्लिम धर्म की ओर से मोलवी मुमताज अहमद ने भी अपने धर्मानुसार कुरान पढ़ दुआ की। मोलवी ने बताया कि रोहतांग टनल का कार्य पूरी देश के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है। बाबू बरगिस ने बाइबल पढ़ ईश्वर से भारत की इस ऐतिहासिक टनल के निर्माण में अपनी कृपा दृष्टि रखने की प्रार्थना की। इसके अलावा लामा मेमे और सिख धर्म से जुड़े गं्रर्थी ने भी अपने धर्म, रीति रिवाज के अनुसार प्रार्थना की। उक्त लोगों ने कहा कि सोनिया के समक्ष इतनी बढ़ी पूजा करना उनकी जिंदगी का सबसे ऐतिहासिक क्षण रहा।

KULLU LADIES IN TRADITIONAL ATTIRE...
This traditional attire is the mark of identification of kullu and is supported by Bumni(a sort of needle made of silver),a gachi weared as girdle and thipu, sort of scarf for head.Now a days the colour of Pattu is dark brown whereas the one you see in picture is in white with black shaids which is actually very-very "traditional".

JALORI PASS,KULLU
At the height of 3230 mtr.,Jalori pass is the way to both Banjar and Anni valley of Kullu.The view from this pass is magnificent.There is a beautifull lake nearby,known as Siolasar(on walk it is 6 Km from pass)and a temple of “Budhi Naagin”.The lushing green oak forest and walk amidst of fog is a joyfull for trekkers.You can also visit an old fortress nearby pass,from where it is said that Shimla is watchable at night.There are exoquitic landscapes at Shouja where once upon a time one ex.British viceroy stayed in the guest house.

KULLU DUSSEHRA
Dussehra at Kullu commences on the tenth day of the rising moon, i.e. on 'Vijay Dashmi' day itself and continues in seven days. The birth of Dussehra in Kullu lay in royal fads and it nourished on religious, social and economic factors and ultimately came to be well established, because of the inborn love of the hill-men for fun, frolic, displayed in community singing and dancing. Numerous stalls offer a verity of local wares. This is also the time when the International Folk Festival is celebrated.
This starts every year with the ‘Rath yatra’ from the Dev sadan point on very first day and brought up to camp temple of Raghunath Ji.On the last day hundreds of deities get together to the southern end of the Dhalpur Maidan called “Lanka Baker” where seven animals are sacrificed in respect of Goddess Kali. This yatra lateron is rolled back to the northern end of the maidan from where it started on the first day of the Kullu Dussehra.
The festival celebrates the triumph of the God Ram over evil. The Rath Yatra of the idol of Lord Ragunath is led by the Kullu Raja and village deities, and is known as the running of the Gods. The procession starts a week of religious ceremonies, cultural activities, socializing and shopping at the huge bazaar, or market, that comprises most of the mela ground.
The idols of Lord Rama, Sita and Hanuman are taken back in a decorated palanquin to their sanctum at Raghunathpur here, accompanied by about a hundred local devi-devtas. All gods and goddesses will now start their journey back to their respective villages.
